Holy Comforter Endowment

Mission

Provide ongoing financial support over time to support the mission and ministry of Holy Comforter.

Endowment Fund consists of two sub-funds:

  • Outreach Fund to reach out to our neighbors.

  • Property Fund to care for and steward our property.

The Endowment Committee may accept the following types of gifts:

  • Cash and cash equivalents

  • Publicly traded securities

  • Closely held securities

  • Real Estate

  • Life Insurance Policies

  • Tangible personal property

  • Deferred gifts

Monies received will be invested with the Participating Investment Fund, which is part of the Diocese of Texas:

  • This is a long-term investment vehicle invested in equities and fixed-income securities.

  • The fund is managed by an investment manager appointed by the Diocese

The Vestry has established an initial goal to raise $250,000 before any disbursements are made to Holy Comforter.

After this goal is reached, the Endowment Committee will recommend withdrawing between 3%-5% of the Fund each year. This will allow the fund to continue to grow and provide income to the church for years to come.

The Vestry is responsible for ensuring that any money distributed from the Endowment Fund are spent according to their intended purposes.

Estate Planning

Consider including a donation to the Endowment Fund of Holy Comforter as part of your will. These gifts will continue to serve the people of Holy Comforter for generations to come.
